RootsofLife – Your Reiki and Holistic Wellness Journey
Overview
Bruce was my first customer who I connected with on Freelancer.com. The official email from Freelancer said, “Congratulations! Bruce T. has awarded their project ‘WordPress Support Needed for my website’ to you.”
That is a good description of what work I’ve been doing for Bruce ever since. In addition to Divi theme development, I’ve also assisted with setting up Tutor LMS lessons and WooCommerce course and trip sales. When Bruce needed to collect emails from the various plugins he uses, I built him a custom PHP script to do just that.
Key Accomplishments and Contributions
Admittedly, Bruce had a fully functioning Tutor LMS solution before I came along, and he does most of the creation and maintaining of his courses. However, he has given me ample opportunity to work with his systam and understand the ins and outs of Tutor LMS and online course management systems, in general.
I’m constantly amazed by Bruce, who is a Reiki Master, but fully capable of developing his own courses and pages for his site. I wouldn’t even pretend to be able to do what he does in his field. 
I have a lot of experience with WooCommerce. For RootsofLife I’ve helped implement partial payments, customized terms and conditions checkboxes, and spent time troubleshooting orders and order email sending.
On this site we’ve also used little known WooCommerce features like product scheduling to enable pricing to adjust on certain dates. This has been particularly effective for the trips Bruce sponsors to Kyoto Japan since the timeliness of payment collection is so important.
RootsofLife’s WordPress system is like most other sites with mutliple plugins that don’t necessarily play well together.
Bruce found this situation with his email list where he had email addresses in WooCommerce orders, the WordPress users, Tutor LMS Courses, Contact Forms, as well as an offline list that he maintains.
