Local business owners, in their own words

"And I mean, the website is night and day compared. I mean, I was just bush league what was up there, Ernie."
"...it's been fun and really for me um as far as the learning experience and um you know, rebuilding my enthusiasm for my entire business. So, uh that's been really a bonus."
"...thank you so much for the incredibly detailed and understandable explanation that you gave me... I can't remember what Ernie's hourly rate is, but I think I owe him about 10 grand."

Common questions
Local business FAQs
Straight answers to the questions people ask Google most about getting found locally.
How can I optimize my Google Business Profile?
Fill in every part of it, and keep it current. That means the right primary and secondary categories, your services, your hours and service areas, and a business description that uses the room Google gives you, up to 750 characters. Add real photos, post regularly, and reply to every review. Make sure your business name, address and phone number match everywhere else they appear online. Our $195 Google Business Profile Audit scores all of this and tells you what to fix first.
How much does local SEO cost for a small business?
Here, you start with a one-time audit: $195 for the Google Business Profile Audit or the SEO Audit, or $395 for the Google Visibility Audit, which covers both plus your own traffic data. Fixes run $75 an hour, and you get a written quote from your fix list before any work starts. There is no long contract to sign.
Why is a business no longer showing up on Google?
Common causes are a suspended or unverified Business Profile, an address or name change that sent the profile back through verification, a duplicate listing, or business details that disagree from one website to the next. On the website side, a stray "noindex" setting or a broken sitemap can quietly pull pages out of search. Map results also depend heavily on where the person searching is standing, so a business can show up for one customer and not for another across town.
How do you audit a Google Business Profile?
I score the profile out of 100 on what Google rewards: name, address and phone accuracy, categories, services, description, photos, posts, and reviews with how many got a reply. Then I read the profile's own performance numbers, meaning how people found you in Search and Maps and whether they called, clicked or asked for directions. I also check the other directories that list your business. You get the fix list plus a ready-to-use description, post templates and a photo checklist.
How do I increase my Google reviews?
Ask. Most happy customers will leave a review if you ask right after the job and make it easy, so send them the review link Google gives you in your Business Profile. Reply to every review, good or bad, because future customers read the replies too. Don't pay for reviews or offer discounts in exchange for them. Google's policies forbid it, and it can cost you the reviews you already have.
Can I do local SEO myself?
Yes, a lot of it. Your Google Business Profile is free, and posting, adding photos and answering reviews are all things an owner can do well. The hard part is knowing what matters most for your business. That is what the audits are for: you get a written, prioritized list, and you can work through it yourself or hand any part of it to me.
Is SEO still worth it in 2026?
For a local business, yes. People still search Google and Google Maps when they need a mover, a plumber or a dentist nearby. The groundwork hasn't changed: a complete profile, accurate listings, real reviews and a website Google can read. AI assistants that answer local questions draw on that same information, so doing it well helps in both places.
