Why Divi is My Favorite
OK, so I admit I’m a Divi fanboy have been since April 16, 2015. I enjoyed using the Divi theme so much that in 2016 I purchased a lifetime license for the Divi theme, and I haven’t really looked back.
Working with my customers, I’ve used a lot of different page builders like Elementor, Visual Builder, WPbakery, and Gutenberg Blocks, but none of them really have worked the way my brain works. All these page builders have their plusses and minuses, but for a variety of reasons I’ve not been tempted to make any of those my favorite.
Sure, but isn’t Divi Ancient?
Yes, Divi has been around for a while. About three years ago they were the number one theme/page builder on market but, admittedly, they really haven’t kept up with new functionalities that have been added to web design (e.g., CSS Flexbox).
For about the last year and a half, the Elegant Themes’ developers have been creating Divi 5.0–a major upgrade to the current version 4+. They are doing this because they recognized that Divi had become bloated and the overhead needed for the editor and operational Divi had become too much to move into the future that WordPress development required. Many of the other builders, like Elementor are suffering with this today.
In my opinion, Divi 5.0 will be released by the end of this year and we will then rapidly see major advancements in the incorporation of all the new web development techniques available.
